It installs only from iTunes using the obligatory Apple private encryption key, which nobody has. Part of the appeal of the Apple iPhone can be attributed to its utter simplicity. There are virtually no moving parts, so you don't have to worry about a hinge breaking or a flap suddenly falling off.

Despite its features, the iPhone is not the most innovative development of 2007, according to PC World's top 25 list for 2007. The magazine instead presents the top award to Google Gears, the search engine giant's platform that allows Mac and Windows users to run web apps such as Google Reader and Zoho Writer without an active Internet connection....

PC World took a look at the tech products that were available in 2007 and compiled a list of the top 25 most innovative products of the year. Apple made the top five twice with the iPhone and Leopard's Time Machine feature. Coming in at number two, right behind Google Gears, was the iPhone.
