The iPhone 3GS is faster and we appreciate the new features and extended battery life, but call quality and 3G reception still need improvement.

Right on the heels of the iPhone 3.0 firmware update, Apple has released a beta version of the iPhone SDK 3.1 to developers. Although the SDK is still in the testing phase, Apple included approximately 15 new OpenGL tools for 3D modeling and graphics, according to MobileCrunch. VideoEditorController and Video Picker APIs could allow third-party apps to bring up the video editing interface....

O2, the exclusive carrier for Apple's iPhone in the UK, reports that the iPhone 3GS is currently "out of stock". In a statement on its Web site it says "Due to the phenomenal demand for the new iPhone 3GS, we've temporarily run out of stock online, over the phone and in our retail stores."

Rupert Murdoch has already said News Corp intends to charge "handsomely" for its WSJ iPhone and Blackberry apps eventually. How much and when? Still unclear but WSJ.com is surveying iPhone users about their willingness to pay for what is now a completely free product.
