Details continue to emerge over supposed multitasking support in an upcoming major release of the iPhone OS. Reports earlier this month suggested Apple's iPhone OS 4.0 would support multitasking. Now, the same source, AppleInsider, is expanding on its previous report with rumors that the supported multitasking will be resemble the Expose function in the Mac OS.

One of the biggest complaints about the iPhone — and the upcoming iPad, for that matter — is that it doesn't allow third-party applications to run in the background. According to one popular Apple blog, though, full-on multitasking support could be coming to the iPhone sooner rather than later.

When Verizon gets the Apple iPhone, AT&T customers will benefit from increased competition and investment.

The rumor...again...is that Apple is working on developing a CDMA version of the iPhone and plans to begin distributing the popular smartphone through Verizon in the near future, ending its exclusivity arrangement with AT&T. The move could benefit Apple and Verizon, but will also be an advantage for existing AT&T customers.

Silicon Valley venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers is doubling the size of its fund for iPhone application developers, as it eyes new opportunities with the forthcoming launch of Apple's iPad.
