After Apple announced its iPhone, everybody else pretty much followed soon after. It was almost as though other companies were waiting to see how the marketplace would react to such a revolutionary design, and then release their own iPhone.

Chief Executive Edward Zander said Wednesday that Motorola Inc. plans to introduce a device next week with "unbelievable video capabilities," a month before Apple Inc. starts selling its iPhone.

Motorola chairman and CEO Ed Zander says his company is ready for competition from Apple's iPhone, due out next month. "How do you deal with that?" Zander was asked at the Software 2007 conference Wednesday in Santa Clara, California. Zander quickly retorted, "How do they deal with us?"
