If you're fed up with using an iPhone on AT&T's network, you now can download software to unlock your Apple handset. One package, developed by iPhoneSimFree, is now available from resellers in the U.S., the Middle East, and Europe. It'll set you back $99. Once installed, though, the app allows you to use your iPhone with another carrier.

On Monday iPhoneSimFree released their $99 iPhone unlocking software. Yesterday the open source hacking community released a free iPhone unlocking software dubbed iUnlock.

I debated over and over about adding AT&T and the iPhone since I am locked into T-Mobile USA for another year and have been closely following the iPhone unlocking stories. I was ready to pay the US$50 to the Australian site for the iPhoneSimFree solution in a couple of days...

We reported this week that iPhonSimFree delayed the release of their iPhone unlocking software. According to Engadget the new release date is this coming Monday.
